About this event
Cecilia McDowall's 'The skies in their magnificence' and Cipriano de Rore's 'Descendi in hortum meum' express awe and joy at the beauty of nature.
Kenneth Leighton's 'God's Grandeur' is a setting of a poem written by Gerard Manley Hopkins about our disconnection from nature in the aftermath of the Industrial Revolution.
Bernard Hughes' 'Precious Things' deals with three precious diminishing natural resources: gold, helium, and oil.
Finally, the world premiere of Eoghan Desmond's 'Guthanna ar an gCnoc' takes us on a climb up Mt Brandon—on a journey away from the modern, industrial world to begin "a new life" on "the green road”.
