Home to over 400 animals across 70 acres of diverse habitat, the Himalayan Hills are the newest addition to this constantly evolving attraction. A participant in breeding programmes for over 35 species, the zoo also supports over 25 conservation projects around the world.

For a petting zoo experience, head to Newbridge House or Airfield Farm, two family-friendly farms that score highly with adults too. Newbridge House in North County Dublin is an irresistible combination of 18th century Georgian mansion on 370 acres with a working farm, exciting playground and café.

Closer to the city, and accessible by Luas, Airfield Estate is a haven for furry friends, food lovers and gardeners. The urban farm is a tranquil pocket of suburbia, with an environmentally sustainable farming model and the chance to get up close and personal with sheep, pigs, goats and chickens. There’s a great café and restaurant on site too.
