- Glass Poems, Poetry Workshop for Adults
Glass Poems, Poetry Workshop for Adults
Saturday, 7 December 2024
About this event
‘Glass Poems’ is a poetry workshop inspired by the leadership of Sarah Purser in establishing An Túr Gloine (‘The Tower of Glass’), which was instrumental in the resurgence of the art of stained glass in Ireland. Led by poet Grace Wilentz, this workshop will touch on Sarah Purser’s life and legacy, before visiting the Gallery’s Stained Glass Room. We will read poetry connected to the medium of stained glass and discuss what it would mean to create ‘talking glass’ or a ‘glass poem’, before writing our own original poems in response to these explorations. No previous experience in poetry is required.
Fee: €50, advance booking required.
Readers are advised to check with the venue before relying on the details published here.
