From its early monastic origins to its growth into one of Ireland’s largest urban centres, the tour reveals the area’s rich heritage through engaging stories and historic landmarks. It includes a visit to Whitehall House, once home to writer Katharine Tynan and a notable gathering place during the Irish Literary Revival, frequented by figures such as W.B. Yeats.
Other highlights include the former Tallaght Aerodrome, with its role in WWI, the historic St. Maelruain’s Church, and the site of the Urneys Chocolates factory. The tour features opportunities to engage with the Irish language.
