Step into the old post office in Marino, Dublin City, which now houses Brookwood Pottery established by Elaine Fallon. Hailing from a lineage of creativity, Elaine’s sisters are the founders of the renowned Queen of Tarts, a beloved cake shop.
Elaine’s craft, however, involves a different kind of baking. She fires her ceramics at high temperatures creating a stunning array of pottery. These exquisite pieces are available for purchase in her charming design shop. Elaine has skilfully preserved the old world allure of the building, which has served as a butcher’s, a vegetable shop, and more recently, the local post office.
During your visit, take the opportunity to meander through the cosy cafés of Marino and Fairview. Don’t miss the historic Casino at Marino, a splendidly restored retreat once frequented by Dublin’s elite. For a touch of literary history, see the birthplace of Bram Stoker, the mastermind behind the iconic ‘Dracula’.
