Since opening in 2019 as the spiritual home of Ireland’s native spirit poitín, BAR 1661 has fostered community, using the bar as a platform to shape drinks, businesses and social spaces. Founded by Dubliner Dave Mulligan, BAR 1661 works with the best small and independent producers on the island of Ireland.

BAR 1661 captures the essence of Dublin 7, extending its charm internationally to mingle with some of the world's most innovative and exciting bars. It has earned a Spirited Awards top ten nomination for Best Bar Team in Europe for two consecutive years and has been named the overall winner of Ireland's Bar of the Year Awards.
