The Hugh Lane Gallery, located on Parnell Square North, Dublin City, houses one of Ireland's most exciting collections of modern and contemporary Irish and international art. Established in 1908, Hugh Lane became the home of artist Francis Bacon’s perfectly preserved studio in 1998. The gallery is free to visit.

Part of the cultural and social heart of Dublin City, the Gate Theatre has been both artistically and architecturally, a landmark building in Dublin for over 200 years. It was established as a theatre in 1928 by Hilton Edwards and Micheál MacLiammóir.

The Honorable Society of Kings Inns, founded in 1541, is Ireland’s oldest legal institution and oldest School of Law. Kings Inns is also a prime example of Georgian architecture.  Visitors are not generally allowed inside, but the grounds and statues outside are worth visiting. It does open to the public for free tours on Culture Night and occasional concerts or exhibitions. A large London Plane tree on the grounds appears to be ingesting an iron bench - it is known as the Hungry Tree, a favourite with photographers.

Áras an Uachtaráin is the official residence of the President of Ireland. Built in 1751, it's situated in Phoenix Park in County Dublin. Visitors are welcome to explore the "Irish White House" and surrounding formal gardens on free guided tours given on most Saturdays.

The seat of Dáil Éireann, the House of Representatives, and Seanad Éireann, the Senate, which constitute the Oireachtas, the National Parliament, was erected in 1745 and has served as the parliament building of the Republic of Ireland since 1922. Its design and floor plan inspired The US White House.

St. Stephen's Green in Dublin City is a Victorian public park, with tree lined walks, shrubberies, colourful flowerbeds, herbaceous borders, rockeries, and ornamental lake and a garden for the visually impaired.

Marlay House was built about 1794 and today the 300-acre historic demesne provides a wonderful park space for the public. Located in Rathfarnham, Dublin, 9km from Dublin City centre,  the park caters for various sporting activities, markets and events.

It also contains 500,000 photographs and exhibitions.

The 18th century architectural masterpiece by James Gandon stands sentinel over the River Liffey. The Custom House Visitor Centre explores the stories connected to the building and encompasses 230 years of Irish History.

The exhibition displays Heaney's notebooks, drafts and diaries offering visitors a unique glimpse into his creative process and revealing the forces that shaped his work.
